Shipping Coordinator (Permanent, Temporary)

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.

The Air Import Coordinator will be responsible for the processing of import shipments and all related activities for an assigned base of accounts including import documentation review, and customs release coordination affecting timely delivery.

Essential Job Functions:

• Communicating with customs and port authorities, carriers, and customers.
• Monitoring and managing shipping schedules and delivery times.
• Responding to incoming customer inquiries and requests.
• Providing rates and quotes for both customers as partner offices.
• Working with internal departments to resolve customer requests and issues.
• Track and trace cargo as necessary to insure proper movement and delivery.
• Provide accounting department with proper and correct billing information.
• Communicate with clients regarding disposition of Freight (i.e. tracking & tracing, routing & dispatching, and rate quotations).
• Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.
• Seek the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in airfreight forwarding or related field.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and import/export requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Professional certification may be required in some areas.
